Adoption

The Hindu Adoption and Maintenance Act. 1956, Guardianship and Wards Act, 1890, The Hindu Minority and Guardianship Act (1956) and Juvenile Justice [Care and Protection of Children] Act 2006 govern the adoption and guardianship laws in India. The Adoptions and Maintenance Act of 1956 dealt specifically with the legal process of adopting children by a Hindu adult. Adoption is a process which enables parent-child relationship t be established between persons not biological related.
